LOL, Ryans camera was jammed for a while but a few whacks with a speed wrench knocked a couple of pictures loose.

ah Pima... what a trip, aircraft as far as the eye can see. And it pays to know the powerful people behind the scenes... thanks James!

The trip down to Pima is long and difficult but made much less so by the presence of Matt G. And Pooner. The four of us had a great time and James was a great guide. I'm exhausted now and have to get up way too early tomorrow for the Chino pilgrimage, but I figured I'd post one picture...

Guess where I am? Jealous yet?

I would say that was the business end of a 162 ft magnesium tube called "City of Fort Worth"

You are correct, otherwise known as the "Broiler" ;)

Here's a group shot of us at Pima

Man, am I tired, and the air show isn't until tomorrow  Drove up from Phx today with Ryan with Chris and a bunch of lurkers stretched out on I-10. Spotted a diassembled Oscar on a trailer in AZ! Anybody know what thats about? Stopped by Palm Springs Air Museum and the dinosaurs that were in Pee Wee's Big Adventure :) Later we finally got into Chino and visited Yanks right before it closed (they still charged full admission though :( ) and then went over to Planes Of Fame and ran into Cindy and later Roger. Cindy took us for a flight line tour and we were able to see all the spiffy aircraft before they were surrounded by admiring mobs of people tomorrow. Thanks Cindy!

Now me and Ryan are off to Grazianos <sp> to meet up with everyone for a WIX dinner. I'm really looking forward to it! I'll see about posting some pictures later.

I really enjoyed getting a chance to spend time with everyone today! Looking forward to the few minutes I'll have to see the rest of the gang throughout the weekend!

the Ki-43 is the one that used to be at EAA, it was loaned to Museum of Flight in Seattle, and the NASM has now loaned it to Pima.

Well Ryan and myself managed to make it back to PHX in one soaked, partially melted piece as the CA/AZ desert managed to tax the AC in Ryans poor car to the limit. It was a great weekend since we managed to goto Hooters twice... er... there was lots of aircraft and people to see. I want to thank Cindy for repeatedly prevent us from getting our butts thrown out of places we probably shouldn't have been, and I want to really thank BDK for the passes that help prevent us from dieing.

The airshow was great and the aerial displayed were amazing. I will be putting together a formal article in the next few days and have 600+ pictures to sort through

I want to thank everyone who made this trip possible for me, I really appreciate it.

Glad you guys didn't die, at least until some time after the show!

You should have stayed for Sunday's show as it was cooler, only 98*F.

I've got 5GB of photos to go through, so hopefully I'll end up with at least 8 worthy of posting in the next week or two.

It was great to meet Scott & Ryan, just wish I would have had more time to chat!

It was great seeing both of you - sorry I couldn't make it to Hooters, but the heat was really getting to me by the time of the mass flyovers, so I had to head home and start sorting through my (mostly sorry excuses for) photos. Hope you both have a good trip back, and hope to see you again next year!

-Chris

P.S. The other highlight of the show for me - I scored a copy of Air Classics Vol. 1 No. 1 from one of the book vendors for a dollar!
