Warbird Information Exchange

This is a very useful stand, it allows you to place the engine into a position vertical or horizontal. It is a wonderful piece of equipment while removing jugs.

If all goes well we should have her ready by the end of May. The #3 Engine should be here by the second week of May.

Thanks for continuing the updates with pictures. Always very informative. Especially appreciated seeing the use of jacks to shift weight to look for leaks. I seem to learn something new every time.

Sorry, I haven't been on lately.

Jim and I got the charging system in "ol'927" this week. I will post a few pictures later this week. So we can now charge both 24v aircraft batteries and the AUX battery system at the same time.

The wet wing has not leaked after repair and placing the aircraft on jacks with fuel on board. Thank You G.A.S. Inc for all your help.

I'm trying to finish up the sheet metal for the step down out of the cockpit and then start on sheet metal at the tail. Daniel was not able to make it this weekend so it didn't get tackled yet.

I have the POGO system in pieces and have located a valve that will work. I should have pictures up next week for the project. Relocated the reservoir and valve and included check valves. Gary welded a fitting I needed for the reservoir and have the extension having the shoe installed.

That about it for now, I promise I will get some pictures posted.

A little bird tells me the engine is done and on its way to Midland. Any truth to the rumor?????

The engine is here and we are in the process of hanging it today.
It is going to be a very busy week, but I will try and get pictures up and fill you all in on the details.

My brother Jarod and I managed to get the oil cooler gasket changed on Engine #1.

He brought Engine #3 in and decided to stay for a few days and give me a hand so I got him covered in oil the first day with the cooler. I have to admit I was laughing to myself over that.

We had a fight on our hands with the hanging of the cooler after replacing the gaskets under the valve assy.

Sorry there aren't more pictures, but its hard to hold up a cooler and take pictures at the same time.

Jarod got the engine here safe and sound.

I had them made last winter, along with some that have the Squadron logo on them. Since I had to pay for them out of my pocket, I only had a few made and only the frequent workers (all 5 of them ) got shirts.
