I'll try to explain this to you all .... I LOVE all things that fly, I love aircraft before 1939 and after 1945, but for some reason that I cannot possibly explain, I have a PASSION for all aircraft from 1939 to 1945, I still don't get it, but I'm hooked on those aircraft, what can I say? ... an F-14, 15, 18, 22 , wow!!!! wonderful, but who the heck cares? not me. I want "WARBIRDS"
I understand the passion for props and WWII aircraft, but I wanted to make sure that as a lover of older vintage jet warbirds that something was said here. I love WWII prop warbirds, but JETS
are WARBIRDS, too. I don't get that excited about Modern jets like F-15s, F-16s, F/A-18, etc., but I LOVE to see and hear older vintage Jets (F-86 Sabres, T-33 Shooting Stars, F-104 Starfighters, F-100 Super Sabres, FJ-4B Fury, F9F Panthers (hope there is a flying example again one of these days), among others). Jets that flew in the 50s and 60s are one of MY passions.
And I love prop plane warbirds that are examples of what flew Post WWII (Skyraiders, C-54, C-97, C-123, C-131, Bearcats, Tigercats, HU-16 Albatross, Mustangs and Corsairs in Post War late 40/1950s markings, and many others).
Just wanted to put some balance out there.
