Warbird Information Exchange

One thing I want to do with the group this year is to take a more active participation in the Warbird community as well as support various projects and efforts. To further this goal, I am forming TeamWIX. This team will be responsible for finding areas that this community might be able to help with in the coming year. Be it restoration projects, museums, recoveries, as well as WIX member projects.

To further this, I will be allocating 40% of all money generated by our subscription option (http://www.warbirdsresourcegroup.org/donate.html, it's voluntary of course) through the remainder of 2008, to start a fund that will be used towards these projects.

The supported efforts don't necessarily have to be warbird related, but have to be of an aviation nature. One suggestion so far is to see about supporting Gary Austin at the Reno Air Races this year. Gary has previously offered to have the WIX logo on his plane as a thank you for all the support, and I can't help but think this will be beneficial to WIX and to help spread the word about our wonderful community.

Yes, there is interest in this option. If I use Paypal, will they charge a fee for each payment, or could we make payment via Visa or M/C through Cafe Press or something like that on a monthly basis?

We could set aside something for motel rooms with so many WIX people wanting to help in a situation like Breckenridge. It would be nice to get them a warm bed and hot shower at night.
