P-51 at ROCAF (Taiwan AF) Museum Kangshan

Wed Apr 09, 2008 9:35 am

Hi folks

received these two photographs from a friend of mine from S. Korea, Martin Fenner - it shows Mustang '053' on display at the Museum in Kangshan

some sources say it's ex ROKAF (S. Korea), others say it's ex Philippine AF - anyone has an ID-tag ? Thanks !

there are some details that look like botched sheet-metal work.... it appears like a P-51D, but some parts are not - look at the wing-roots, horizontal stabilizers, the funny inlet under the propeller, the panels around the exhausts, etc... and the wheels also were borrowed from another (jet-) type
