OK people, it's time for me to start getting serious in the Poon research department....I've been running cross country the past year chasing down the remaining Poons. There are a few that I haven't visited yet, most I know where they are, and I hope they aren't going to be moving for at least a couple of months, so I can get to them...I hope my invitations to see them are still open, I'll be finding out soon....

I am also wanting to talk with anybody that has flown the PV-2 or been part of the crew on any PVs as well....

I am very familiar with the Warbirds Registry, and have been in and out of this data as well as the FAA registry, and the FAA crash data. There are some mistakes in both, some double listings, and a few dead ends, and I'll be darned if I'm not going to get a final and accurate count on whats left of them..According to the WIX registry, there appears to be around 40 total PV-2s and PV-2Ds left....I believe that there are actually about 30 remaining...we'll see....I am confident that there are no surviving PV-2Cs inexistance, or a single PV-3...unless they are stashed away in a forign country....this could be possible...

I'll start with a few aircraft in question at first, and in small installments, I'll add a few more....

PV-2 15-1073 N7261C This a/c is one of the oldest Poons around,

37159 History and pics needed

PV-2 15-1150 N7253C Last listed in Glendive, Mt. Not there
37184 in spring of 2007..ex-Kinney sprayer?

If this is his current project, this was up at John Lane's in Jerome Idaho a couple of years ago, might still be there?

Ryan, thanks for the info on N7671C....I am still in need of photos of this aircraft, which is one of the two Super Harpoons built (one survives)

Thanks for the kind words Nathan....

I went past John Lanes place in Idaho a few months back, and saw a PV outside there...N7249C....It was early on a Sunday morning, and nobody around, so I didn't hang there long.
Believe the plane in question would be inside...hope to get that way again soon, and at a reasonable hour....Still need pictures of this (N7261C-37107-15-1073) PV.

Gary
