What a great story. It's wonderful his grandchildren could experience the P-51 like that. Thanks for posting the link.

Not many folks know that Jim's wife was famous 1940s songstress "Liltin Martha" Tilton. I've got some great photos of her P-38 ride on Guadalcanal with a USO tour. 8) 8)

One more reason that they are called The Greatest Generation. A fine story indeed.

Thank you so much for posting the link to that site. I watched the video three times in a row and really enjoyed it every time.

I had the great honor of meeting Jim Brooks at the Gathering in Columbus last September. I also was able to visit with Jim for a bit and got his signature on the lining of my A-2 flight jacket.

What a fine gentlemen and a hero in my estimation. I am going to show this video to my wife when she gets home this evening. I want her to see and hear this man.....and realize that I had the honor, for a brief period, to meet Jim Brooks.....to meet a Legend!

Be sure and check out the link to the website for Jim Brooks' wife, posted by Jack Cook. Inside are the recordings for many of his wife's performances. She was the lead singer for Benny Goodman for a while. You'll be amazed how much her grand daughters look like her .

Thanks, Jack, you've outdone yourself once again ! :D

I think that among other things, that video sums up the importance and meaning of the entire warbird movement. Excellent video, thanks for sharing.
