Gary, you didn't say anything about having a D modle there!

Heck, what time on Saturday were you here...and why on earth did you not tell me ahead of time that you were going to be here?!? I was in General Staff meetings all morning, but I'd have certainly made time afterwards to show you around.....including the Harpoon.

Hey Gary,
I wasn't sure that I was going to make it to Midland in time..I made it there at about 3 PM, was told by the cutie at the front desk and Annelorre, that I had just missed you.
I left you a calling card on the port pitot tube, just under the cover!!
Annelorre was very helpful, I didn't see any numbers on the PV-2D, and the guys down at Pensacola couldn't remember what the s/n of the Poon was either, she looked up the records and we found that it is #37537..I believe that would put that a/c as the 3rd PV-2D built.
I would still like to find out when the aircraft arrived at Midland, and how she got there..by air or truck....

The Harpoon came by truck...it was on the deck of the Lex in Corpus Christi, but it became available for some reason. When it was off-loaded from the Lex they managed to break the fuse...

Come back sometime for a longer visit.

you bet I will be back...I did notice the damage just forward the bomb bay doors....looks like from a strap or something that put the squeeze on her...I have a lot of questions on how it was trucked in....Was the center section left intact? How was it loaded on the trailer? These are some very urgent questions, as I am going to be moving mine hopefully sometime in the spring/summer/fall of this year. I am wanting to keep the wing fuselage in one piece if at all practical and if I can afford it, and time is drawing near! Thanks, Gary

But of course!

Actually, I am more concerned if all the hornets are Garys pets!

The yellow jackets live in the wheel wells, and Mosquito the cat tends to live in the left wheel well when he gets stuck outside at night, so I reckon he and the yellow jackets have made some sort of agreement to leave each other alone.

I try to keep my pet rattlesnakes in an enclosure, but they keep sneaking out of the chain link fence for some reason and now they're scattered all over the place out here.

I'm glad Annelorre was able to help you with that info. Next time you come out, we'll try to help you out some more.
