It is the birthday of our most famous local warbird guy.
Chris Peatridge

He was in charge of the Tallichet airplanes up here in the northeast back then.
I came along about the time that the glass nose was installed and painted. Philo machined the clips to hold the windows in.

BTW Philo, I dont think there is anything going on, he is not talking to me again. :(

I don't think so. I seem to remember that Tallichet (Yesterday's Air Force) had N9115Z painted up as a Doolittle raider when in Florida during the 70s. Doolittle even visited the aircraft and autographed it. This was carefully masked by the painters during the filming of Hanover Street, but is nowhere to be seen as it sits in the RAF museum..!

Better late then never :oops:
I was on my way to the N.E.A.M. in July of 92, when I came across Tallichets Fleet out on the grass basically abandoned.
The FAA had just grounded "Joe" For what I can't remember :rolleyes:
It was funny to see the B-25 there, because I had helped fix her up for a year or so, then before I knew it she was gone :evil:
This was the first time I saw her again :shock:

Another crisp and clean Warbird...
I believe some one wrote a line or two in here saying that it would be kinda cool to see a B-25 that looked like she just flew in from the combat zone, a war weary Mitchell....I agree.
I'd also like to see a few examples set up as a plush VB-25, and a TB-25.
These may be out there, but I don't scan the magazines much any more.
What C'ha'll think?

It's almost to bad I don't live down here anymore. I'd help with this project. From what I heard around the airport it flew in and hasen't flown again. I get the impression that it'll be a few years at least untill she gets up again.

No one was around to ask. The only information I got was from the sign taped to the aircraft (last photo). It's a little hard to read but I think you can make it all out.
