Zack in Oshkosh

You gotta' tell my wife, Zack. According to her, that's the first time I've been right about anything in the last two months!

Woohoo... one Ercoupe perched on a Shell station in Wautoma.

http://www.wagner-oil.com/stores/wautomashell.php

The map locator on this page is off though. The actual station is located farther to the west on Hwy 21.

Do you want to find locations of displayed, stored or active aircraft? Then start with the The Locator.
Do you want to find or contribute to the documented history of an aircraft? If so then start with the Airframes Database.

Paul,
Thanks for posting the Waukesha rundown. Do you know the identities of any of these birds please?
Mustang will be N5427V, and of course there is N433RD :)

Andy Marden

Andy,

I know some of them off the top of my head, but I'll have to do some research.

I don't know the status of the little museum that was on the field at Waukesha. The old hangar it used to be in was bought, dismantled, and moved to Poplar Grove IL so I have a feeling it isn't around any more. All the warbirds on the field are privatly owned.

Noted.

Thanks to all that chipped in. The "Need Help List" has been reduced to 26 items. I am still hoping some tips will flow in, but it is more likely that it is up to some of you keen warbird hunters to take it the remainder of the way eventually.

Mike

While driving through Wisconsin earlier this year I stopped in on a whim. IIRC the display park is open when the ANG museum building is but they do not have posted hours.

I tried to enter some info into your locator, but I don’t think I did a very good job. Sorry Mike!

Thanks for the tip. I didn't get an email indicating anything had been sent. Did you get any error messages?

If you don't mind, find the location in the Locator and click the megaphone icon for that location. This will take you to the Location Log where the comments you posted here would be most welcome as well. This way others visiting the site will know to check the museum hours first. If you have any problems as all just go to...

http://www.aerialvisuals.ca/ContactForm.php

...and let me know. I want to make sure the Locator is easy to use, so please tell me about any hiccups.

Mike

Oh, yeah. Not that I know much about this, but the A-4 also has left EAA's collection. Rumor mill has it flying out of OSH in a few months.

Been volunteering at the Weeks Hangar on the B-17, etc. Lots of fun.

Chris
