I'm sure I painted everyone of the 80+ RF-4C Phantoms at least once, in the 3+ years I was stationed there.
I have that Euro1 paint scheme etched into my brain,LOL!

Thanks fellow Vets!

A little late...but, USAF 1981-1985

Security Specialist/Law Enforcement
1981-1982 Minot AFB ND
1982-1984 Eilson AFB/Elmendorf AFB AK
1984-1985 Grissom AFB Indiana

I agree with it being a little uncomfortable when in a crowd and the vets are asked to stand. Those who served in combat situations are my heroes and I do not feel at all to be in a league with them.

As an unhappy youth, I quit a "good" factory job to go join the Air Force:

USAF OCtober 3, 1960 thru September 29, 1964
training at Lackland AFB, Texas and Eglin AFB (#9), Florida
did OJT with 507th FW (ADC) at Kincheloe AFB, Michigan

37th ADMS @ Kincheloe AFB, Michigan -- Bomarc IM-99B missiles (from 12/60 - 7/62)
7368 CSG, 366th TFW @ Etain AFB, France -- F-84F fighters and quite a variety of transient aircraft (from 7/62 - 9/64)
A1C in P.O.L.

Being a ramp rat with my fuel rig was fine :D but I just wasn't "military" enough to be satisfied with the rest of it when I wasn't working around aircraft. :(

Career cut short when first wife begged me to get out of the military. Shortly after I got out I realized the error I had made and tried to go back in. Since it was right after the end of Desert Storm, they were letting so many out that they weren't letting retreads back in.
