There will not be a season three for the show from the History Channel. I heard it from a producer.

I thought the editing and narration could get pretty cheesy, but it was entertaining. At least when they weren't trying to make a CGI snuff film. I hate to see it go, they told some very good stories.

From what was told to me it was about numbers, viewership, sponsership, etc.

It might be picked up by another channel as it was implied (maybe I'm reading too much into it). If so, can anybody guess?
My role in this was providing them information, interviews, etc., about one episode called, Bomber Dogfights. That one is a no go but those all ready in production will go forward.

Actually there is an update to the post in the "dogfights" forum about it NOT being cancelled.

http://boards.historychannel.com/thread ... 9108498772

But it never hurts to write in anyway to say how Great this show is and needs to be on!

Wild West Tech, Mail Call, now this. No wonder I never watch that channel anymore. I liked it better when it was the Hitler Channel. Now days these shows like Modern Marvels, UFO Files, and Ice Road Truckers have lost my interest. I liked it better when it was the Hitler Channel. When anytime of the day you could turn on the TV and see Hitler in someone's cross hairs, now that was entertainment.

I'm not trying to cause trouble but this is my story. My version came from a producer that has produced episodes. Maybe I ought to contact him again. Here is his direct statement sent: Wednesday, September 05, 2007 11:36 PM

History channel won’t be renewing Dogfights for a third season; however, some shows already in the pipeline will be delivered.

Unless they have changed their mind and if so that's wonderful.

I don't doubt you. But I think we should write in anyway and show our support for the show. In the post they said they did not Cancel it, which is different than re-newing. So lets start an e-mail campaign

I'll do it. I have a vested interest as I've spoken to some bomber veterans who agreed to an interview for the show. Those men are all in their 80's and finally wanted to tell their stories and jumped at the chance to do so.

I didn't know Mail Call was canceled?!

Exactly what does Ice Road Truckers have to do with HISTORY anyway????

I remember what Discovery Channel was like before it became American Chopper channel.

Some friends of mine who consult for the show told me they will not be producing any new shows unless it gets picked up at a later date but so far no commitment from the History Channel for new episodes.
