My first airliner ride was in a Braniff DC-7. I remember watching those things do their run up at night. What a sight.

Thanks for the link to the shots! Nice to see the classic Eastern Air Lines markings being painted on the DC-7B. Hopefully this is an indication that the structural and mechanical work is progressing also. I can't wait to see and hear this beauty in the air.

Is this the 7 that came from St. Paul a few years ago? If so I did some minor work on it about 30 years ago. I also watched the owner put about 50 or 100 gallons of gas in her an run the engines. The wing leading edges would be covered with oil, and a lot of mosquitos would be killed from the clouds of smoke. The intertior was in beautiful shape, just like a time capsule.

That's the one. It seems like it may be 2 or 3 years now since its last flight from St. Paul, MN down to Florida.
