I live in northern Iowa, but had just crossed that bridge a week ago, and it all gives a guy a moment to think of the possibilites.
They are now saying 7 dead, with possible others drown, yet to be recovered.
I too, also have friends that live in the Twin Cities, and this is a HUGE event that has effected several people, so a little understanding would go a long way, at times like this.

Thanks,

Leon

Drive across it often. My daughter has been taking a class down at the U and uses it. My mom's husband was on it earlier this afternoon. 7 dead now and many more injured.

Lots of stories of people helping out too which was nice to see.

15 years in the Twin Cities; I drove across that span many times. Finally got through to a family member there; they're ok.

My prayers for the injured and killed, and their families. It was rush hour. Thank God the numbers are so few.

I work a couple miles north of the bridge and sometimes take that route into Minneapolis after work. I was glad I worked late tonight.

There are postings, and then, there are postings.

I know at least three people in the area (Helldivers being one, Dick Phillips the other, and Dr. Gary Kuhn being the third) who are directly related to aviation.

So, I believe the warning / posting was adequate for this forum, and I sincerely wish for everyone's well being, although with 60 cars on the river, I am not really sure that this will be possible.

Saludos,

Tulio

Dont forget about me :(

It is sad, bodies are still trapped, I hope some alive, but it is looking pretty sad down here.

Operative word, Paul, is "know."

I have met these gentlemen in person, so I know them. I know quite a few more people in the Twin Cities, but they have no connection to aviation.

Saludos,

Tulio

Very sad indeed chaps. Good fortune however that more lives were not lost. That school bus could have made it just a lot worse.

I wonder if bridges get the same attention as aircraft re structures etc. They should but I know they don't. What are the public service standards?
:( :roo:
