I would like to thank Bill Greenwood for flying in his Spitfire at this years Wings over the Rockies B-17 event (Centennial Airport, Colorado).

I love to see the B-17, but the highlight for me is to see this Spitfire fly over... and to get to see it up close.

I thought I would share some of the many photos of the Spitfire I took at the event.

Thanks again Bill.

Best Regards,

BlueDharma

Shouldn't a Spitfire pilot have one of those moustaches with the curls at the end? Looking good otherwise!

B-W, tsk tsk...

I thought I would share a few from the year before. Sorry to say, I didn't get any real clear shots of the plane in the air.

I would enjoy seeing pics that may have been taken at Centennial Airport by others on June 15th - June 16th of this plane in flight.

Anyway, it is nice to see the plane fly in each year. Look forward to seeing it in the future.

Because this is my 2nd post, Broken-Wrench... I don't understand what you are responding to. ???

It's old, not a joke and not funny at all.
It needs to go away has there's no place for it here.
Hopefully the family of the pilot killed in the Spit crash won't post here and ask the same question.

Thanks, for the photos. Man that pilot doesn't look like he did 24 years ago, did you have to use a wide angle lens to get that shot? I have problems with one knee from a ski injury and it swells up if I jog on it. So it is hard to lose weight, man I hate to give up Dr. Peppers! It was only a few year ago that I ran a 10k at 8000 feet altitude and finished in under an hour(just). The airplane still looks pretty good though.

The airplane can be rebuilt from under the data plate, you can't. Lay off'n those Dr. Peppers! He was probably some quack anyhow, not a real doctor.

I understand that some people on this forum don't agree with some of Bill's political issues or some of his thoughts of Vietnam. That being said, there is absolutely NO place here or anywhere else for a link to a fatal Spitfire crash. That is about the most classless thing I have seen on this forum. No one should wish that on ANYONE. It's interesting that people will go out of their way to help Jack out in a time of need, and then someone will turn around and post a link of something like that.

IMHO, Broken-Wrench should be banned for this. Just my two cents...Sorry for the rant.

I too was a bit confused at first when I saw the response to my original post. But it looks like the Admin has stepped in and removed the drama.

When I saw Bill at the Centennial Airport this last week he was surrounded by a large group of people. He was kind and answered all the questions.
He went out of his way to make sure my 5 year old daughter (who was with me) was having a good time, and not getting sunburned.

Several individuals asked if they could send him pictures. He recommended this web-site.
He said that there was a great deal to learn from this web-community and said he would look forward to our interaction here.

I am eager to learn about the aircraft that each of you may have. I also look forward to seeing pictures of future events.

As to Bill’s views/political issues... he was looking out for my daughter, and that is #1 in my book.

Best Regards

BlueDharma

I couldn't agree more. An appology should be forthcoming otherwise Broken-Wrench needs to find somewhere else to vent his rage.

When I came in here a couple days ago and saw the link that BW had left I was so appalled that I removed WIX from my favorites list and swore I would never come back in here. Knowing that the majority of folks here are nothing like that fool, I signed in this morning to find that others here were just as upset with that garbage as I was :x Hopefully the fellas running this site keep that jackass out of here and let the rest of us plane nuts keep playing in here :D

OK...now, back to the pix and onwards toward Thunder...WOOHOO!

Thanks for the photos, I really had not had a chance to practice formation flight this season, I got a few moments in a T-6 at Warbird Adventures. Joe wasn't sure, and of course the controller had us go the opposite way of Joe's briefing, but it seemed to work ok. And Lynn I could have taken a rider since there was no waiver, some folks asked but no one was under 185 lbs. I am goiing to limit myself to only half a donut this am.
