ArmyJunk,

I recommend Picasa to archive your photos. They are a branch of Google and the ads around your photos will be discrete. There are other advantages.

Did you get my PM? Please contact me.

Wonderful collection that should be useful to restorers and modelers. Thanks for sharing!

bdk makes a valid point, but i'm sure the navy would find a loop hole to get their way as usual.

Fantastic pictures from our buddies from across the Sound! I wish I could find that many pictures for Chance Vought/ Sikorsky from over here in Startford. Those are pretty sweet. :)

Now that would make a cool diarama from the old Revell 1/32 kit.

I can't remember which Gulfhawk it was, but tere was one stored at the Allegheny County Airport for years. This was a long time ago. I think it was the bearcart. It was stored in the Gulf hangar! Where else would it be?

Must have been another airplane. Gulfhawk IV (the Bearcat) was mostly destroyed in a landing accident in Jan. 1949. The right mail gear collapsed and the airplane burned. Some parts were salvaged and used in the recent rebuild of a Bearcat that is now painted in the Gulfhawk IV markings. It has since had a landing accident and is in rebuild yet again.

Yeah, I do. I was a tanker when I was in the service and have always wanted to go to the Armor Museums back east.
