WARNING! Obligatory shilling for my hometown team follows:

Yankee Lady may be at Janesville this year (we're tentatively on the schedule, but we've received no "signed contract, set in stone" confirmation) with a significantly shorter than 6 hour wait.

Of course, you could always just swing by Thunder, we'll be selling rides there too. :D

John and others, unfortaunately EAA got so big they no longer offer B-17 rides at OSH, they bus you or you drive 20 miles north to Appleton, sign up early by phone and get a slot. Don't despair, on site EAA offers rides in Tri motor, helicopters, maybe biplanes, and seaplanes and some ultralight guys do demos in early am or eve in calm winds.

Yeah...I was able to get the kids a ride on one of those Bell helicopters they were operating by the vintage airport. Only had to wait about 30 minutes or so.

Is there anyway these days, for a pilot to get 10 minutes of stick time in a B-17? My Dad flew them and it has always been my dream to do that. I would give larges sums of money and my best dog to be able to do that.
A couple of years ago, I reserved my Dad a flight on the Collings
Foundation B-17 for his Christmas present. When I told him, he said if he couldn't fly it he wasn't interested. He said when he was 19 and 20 years
old he got to fly them all the time and didn't want somebody spending their hard earned money for him to 'ride'.
I know its an insurance issue. Just wondered if it was possible.
