With apologies to the prop fanatics...thought the other three or four jet admirers on this forum would enjoy this one.... :D

Love the sound kerosene burners make! I still remember what 55000 lbs of thrust feels like to this day! Awesome!!

I think he needs a bigger prop on the front of this one...

wonder what that would do for the stall speed of a t-33?

:-)..

Quick, Paul look on the floor. See those pedals, you may have to push one! I told you a 33 would look like a real airplane if it just had one of those. You better get up here, we just got tons of fresh snow and the sun in on its way.

Reminds me of one of those radio controlled "jet" models before they came up with the ducted fans and turbines.

Bill,

I push them on takeoff every time so I keep it on centerline, but put my feet on the floor once I escape gravity's grip--saves the tread on my boots. A buddy of mine keeps his Decathlon in my hangar and is teaching me the fine art/rudder dance of tailwheel flying so I'm getting in touch with my piston-tailwheel side, but don't go spreading that around. I wouldn't want give the false impression I'm straying from the land of milk, honey and the musical suck, burn, blow of the turbine moto. Geez, you gotta be on those rudders during acro..almost like work! As they regularly drink all the beer in my hangar fridge, Henning and sdennison are trying to corrupt me into a T-6 partnership one day. There are times when I get feelings of piston Stockhom Syndrome being around these guys...it's like being visited by Jehovah's Witnesses, only they're not as well-dressed and the radial is their god.

Thanks again for rubbing in the ideal ski conditions in Aspen...I'm gonna try and sneak out for a few days in April.

As for that big prop in the T-33, you'd have to mount the engine/drive sorta P-39 style so as to keep the CG in the envelope.

VERY cool!

Those non-US jet teams perform some very exciting maneuvers that the US teams don't! I could watch that stuff for hours. . . 8)

Cheers!
