This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Hey guys. A lot of you have been asking how is the C-97 coming along?
Slow.
But, we finally acquired enough jacks for the airplane, so on July 18, we jacked her up and performed landing gear retraction tests and emergency gear extension tests.
I posted some pics on our website at

Awsome. I am glad to see the 97 is progressing.
I have a quick question about the BAHF...Are you guys based at Farmingdale NJ? Off of the NJ Parkway? I have been driving down to Point Pleasant alot recently and noticed signs for Farmingdale and an airport. Just wondering if this was where you guys were based. Thanks!

Thanks. Its going to be a long, slow venture, but we'll get there.
Farmingdale, NJ is where our office is based. (Actually, now its just the PO BOX). The airport you are thinking of is Allaire Airport...ahem...Monmouth Executive Airport - BLM.
We base out of Robert J Miller Airpark in Toms River - MJX
Leaving for Selkfridge and Oshkosh with the -54 in a little while so see you there!

Thanks for the info.
Have a great flight to Oshkosh.

Dan,
You're a Jersey guy...you should get involved! You know how easy that is to do?

Kevin, Is there a chance we'll be seeing these two birds fly together for the 08 season?

Oh man..the idea of hearing four R-4360s running at once sends shivers down my spine. I needed a cigarette after hearing Odegard's F2G fire up..and I don't even smoke!

'08? Maybe, mabye... near the end. We're probably going to gear up for a 60th Anniversary of the Airlift trip with the -54 acros the pond in 08. (Thats in the pipeline. Whether it happens or not remains to be seen.)

We were suppose to get that awsome looking Super Corsair for the Corsairs over CT show but he sadly got diverted to another show.

The project looks like it's coming along well, Kevin. Remember, we have quite a bit of C-97 stuff laying around here, if y'all need anything.

Gee, about the last photo on the web site. The pilot did a nice job of flying through the hangar with the two left engines feathered, and you got it on film too!

Gary, thanks and we'll chat at Selfrdge and OSH.
We're looking for some cockpit window glass, the upper windows and the end half round windows in the middle row.
