Recently on PBS I watched a show about the discovery of the US sub Largato which was lost in WW2. This got me wondering, of the 52 US subs that never returned or are still on "eternal patrol" from WW2 how many have been located?

Actually a fair number have been located... Not a lot, but a good number. One of the most recent is the famous USS WAHOO, which was lost in the South China Sea, IIRC...

Anyone recall the ID of the pre-WWII pig boat sunk right off Lahina, Maui?

Perhaps a different one, this one, USS Bluegill, is Gato Class
