i've always thought conan o'brien was not funny, & acts like a douche bag. granted, he only took over for leno this week, but i think he's lame. by the audience's response to his style of comedy only backs up my feelings. i'll give him a chance, but his writer team needs to study up on past carson & leno re-runs.

Maybe he's a reflection of the current state in the USA, quite possibly a nation of dummies. A fake look, smile, and laugh and a cued audience so all the dummies can laugh. Maybe that's why were in trouble too.

I have not seen Conan's act in quite some time but I think he will do okay.

Real comedy is found right here on WIX. P-38's on poles, Homeland Security Skyraiders and other good stuff.

I think it may be a *ahem* generational thing. (I dont know how old you folks are, but this is my theory...)

I am 26 and grew up watching The Simpsons for my entire life  For many years Conan was a writer on that show. Personally I "get" his sense of humor, however I can see how the traditional Leno audience may not understand it.

Conan's style is very different than Jay's.

I think people in my age range are more receptive to Conan and I would speculate that NBC was shooting for a larger cut of the 20 or 30 something demographic

i think TAdan nailed it. Conan has a way different style than Jay did. It's more along the lines of the humor the younger generation gets. I'm 33 and love it. I also love that I get a chance to see him more with the earlier time and hopefully when Jay comes back later this year his fans will enjoy his earlier time as well.

Definetly a more Generation X type of comedy. I am 41 and like Connan O'Brien.

Remember, when David Letterman first came on, nobody got it but look at him now.
