MOVIES: Hawker Hurricane in 'The Water Horse'

Sat Jun 14, 2008 4:12 pm

I rented 'The Water Horse' which is a great movie for the whole family about a boy who finds an egg on the shore which hatches and grows into the Loch Ness monster.

It happens to take place in 1942 whereas a British Army artillery battalion billets itself in a manor home and sets up a perimeter around the loch. During one scene 2 villagers are on the loch in a boat and they are buzzed by a Hawker Hurricane! Not CGI but a real Hurri! I think it might have been the NZ example, as parts of this movie may have been filmed in NZ even though there were some scenes of Scotland.

Recommended movie. Anyone else seen it?

Pete
