hey.... it's aviation related, were talking lucky lindy here!!! was surfing the boob tube & came across court tv doing an investigation into the lindbergh child kidnapping. a number of authorities, authors etc raise speculation that that lindbergh himself could have been suspected of being involved in the crime. it is speculated that lindbergh, a notorious prankster, & sometimes to the point of blatant cruelty pulled a prank that back fired, & had to cover his his highly respected & revered butt to save face as america's greatest hero at that time. it is well documented that ole chucky pulled a prank the year before saying the child had been kidnapped, & actually hid him in a closet for a while, while scarring the crapola out of mrs lindbergh, the house servant staff etc. he then spilled the beans that it was a joke. if true.... "ha ha ha real funny" & what a sick sense of humor!! according to the show lindy lead the entire investigation with approval from the law authorities, which doesn't jive from the legitamacy stand point. by today's standards, that would never fly. it is felt bruno hauptman was framed, but the hand writing on 15 ransom notes were his, as were the wood boards from the home made ladder were matched to his attic board wood in his home. all studied by world reknown authorities in the last 2 years. i have no clue if any of this is true but it's fascinating stuff!!! :?: :?: what's your opinion guys??? regards, tom

As a side note:
The lead investigator on the case was the 1st head of the NJ State Police.
Col. H. Norman Schwarzkopf, father of Gen. "Stormin Norman" Schwarzkopf.

When Gen. H. Norman Swarzkoph was older he read the copies of all the investigation files his father had kept in the attic of their Lawrenceville NJ home. In his book he says,
"These left no doubt in my mind that the outcome of the trial was just."
