We were trying to find a set up today that we could use to service the struts on a T-6 and that started me thinking, what does everyone else use to service the struts.
So fire away with ideals and pix's please.

The struts on the T6 that I work on have standard, high pressure, schrader valves just like the ones on most airplanes. (The high pressure valves are the ones that don't have valve cores, you turn a nut to seal and unseal the valve) We use a standard nitrogen bottle setup that can be found at most airports.

Hello Lynn,
as the schrader valve points straight up in a very limited space environment, we personally found the following Schrader 90 degree Coupling not to be working very good:

The following two couplings should make the access to the valve easier, but we didn´t try them personally:

These Couplings are designed for several thousands of psi, as we are not using that high pressure in the T6 Struts, a regular valve connector like for inflating tires worked out as well in our case.

If I remember correct, the parts manual calls for a solid copper gasket AN901-5C (not a AN900 crush washer) between the schrader valve and the strut.

I am not sure where to get the "straight" one, but the 90degree and the 45?? degree ones are available via skygeek. Type in "schrader" as keyword to get results.

go to a truck supply shop and get a long valve extention
