What fuel lines do you use with band clamps? 303 too rigid with steel braid for clamp to be effective ? MIL DTL 6000 Soft Flexible Hose not recommended for fuel? |

Hi Chipfire, you say that MIL DTL 6000 Soft Flexible Hose is not recommended for fuel. This is wrong (Its just what Aircraft Spruce says in their Catalog) The Specs sheet for the Mil DTL-6000 D says: 6. NOTES (This section contains information of a general or explanatory nature which may be helpful, but is not mandatory.) 6.1 Intended use. The intended use of the hose is for use in fuel, oil, coolant, water, and alcohol lines in aircraft engine installations. If used in lengths greater than 18 inches, however, the hose has a tendency to collapse. So, the Hose is Ok for Fuel, like the small Pieces you need in the Engine Compartment. It is just not suitet for longer lines (18inch+) like in Fuel Lines, (thats what Spruce tries to say in their catalog) By the way, we found the 303 too rigid for effective clamping best regards Stefan |

In my first reply the MIL Spec for the MIL 6000 is quoted. The 18 inch are mentioned in the section 6.1 The full spec for example is here: http://everyspec.com/MIL-SPECS/MIL-SPEC ... 000D_6090/ Stefan |
