Post subject:  T-6 Wheel Repairs

Hi, we have a set of T-6 wheels which are in great shape other than having been chewed up around the outer edge of the rim at some stage over the years where tyres have been changed. Is there any documentation which details how much blending out (if any) can be undertaken on the outer edge of the rim?

Many thanks

I have heard of most people machine the wheels on a lathe. Depending on the damage, there is ample material on the wheels.

They should take weld repairs just fine- don't tell the FAA though...

A lot of antique magnesium and aluminum hot rod and motorcycle wheels are repaired this way now that they have become so valuable.
