What is the consensus on the benefits of installing an electric preoiler on the 1340? I searched the posts and found a lot of discussion on how to preoil but nothing on the pros & cons. If this has been hashed out elsewhere please direct me to the postings. Steve Maehr SNJ-5 N3261G |

The engine will never start dry...we run preoilers on the bombers and the mustang. In the long run its cheap insurance. Jim |

Hello Steve, I recommend you give Rob Seeman over at Covington Engines a call. He can be reached Mon-Fri 6:30 am to 5:00 pm at (918) 756-8320 He can answer just about any question you may have on the R-1340, and he's a very nice guy! The Covington website http://www.covingtonaircraft.com is also very helpful. It has a FAQ's section under the Tech Support Tab of the Radial Engines section. Fly Safe, Vincent |

Hi there, did anybody purchased a pre-oiler recently? We tried to get in contact with Oilamatic, Inc via Phone/Fax/Email/Voicemail....unfortunately without response. Is the business still running? Another option would be clean-kit.com (Darton Aviation/Mike Muraski).... Any other provider of pre-oilers, we should consider? Thanks Chris |
