T-6G 150 hours on a overhauled generator and it's not charging. Checked the voltage regulator point's, looked good and clean. Checked the cannon plug on the top of the generator, it's was dirty. Cleaned the male and female connections with connection cleaner and pipe cleaners. Any advice on what else to check. Is the reverse polarity a good possible culprit ? Thanks for any advice. JH

Disconnect the hot side of the battery, leave the ground connected.
Locate the FIELD terminal on the generator (probably marked FIELD, or F), and disconnect the wire from it.
Connect a suitable length (able to reach the battery) of wire to the field terminal.
Tap (just tap) the other end of the wire on the hot battery terminal. There may/should be a spark - don't be alarmed.
Reconnect the generator and battery.

That should be it. Go fly.

If that didn't work, try again. Electrons are lazy and contrary and may not have gotten the message the first time around.

While your at it, pull the cover band off the generator, and make sure the brushes move freely too.

I don't believe there is a F or field marked lug. The only connection the generator has is through a cannon plug. In it as two larger lugs and above and below it are two smaller ones. Anyone have advice on how to flash a 1340-AN1 generator through the lugs or at the Voltage regulator ?

Pull Voltage Regulator and check the posts and the fingers they press on.
I've seen them build up an oxide.
Also have you had the wires and connections checked on the gen, in the box on the firewall and on and around the Voltage Regulator/Reverse Current Relay.
Have someone turn the prop, mags off verified please, and look in to the gen through any opening or remove brush cover, and make sure the gen rotates with the engine.
Good Luck.
