Hello everybody, we are going to overhaul a T-6G in Germany and I hope you can help me out with some infos... The A/C is some hundred miles away right now and not that easy to access, we need to disassemble it for road transport to germany. Therefore we are building some hoisting equipment. Does anyone know the thread-size of the hoisting ring, that will be screwed in the wing middle section? (E-700 in the second picture) Thank you in advance! Chris |

The E-700 Lifting Eye has- 5/8"-18NF-3 Threads from the bottom to 5/8" up the shaft. 1/8" of transition from 5/8-18 threaded dia to 3/4" dia. 3/4" to 1 9/16" up the shaft the dia is 3/4" Starting at the 1 9/16" point there is a flange about 1 1/8" dia by 1/8" tall and then a ring 1/2' thick with an OD of 1 3/4" and an ID of 3/4". Above that is a large loop made from 1/2" dia bar 1 1/8"radius on the OD, 7/8"radius on the ID for the top and bottom circles of the loop with overall length of 4 1/4" top to bottom of the loop. The loop is made in 2 pcs and welded together installed in the eye of the threaded eyebolt discussed above. Good luck. We have lifted using a strap under the upper engine mounts where it attaches to the firewall. Look down this page- viewtopic.php?f=3&t=21830&start=1230 |

Lance aircraft had the lifting rings when I bought mine. |

Hello Chris B. I came up with another part number for the lifting eyes. The Erection & Maintenance Handbook T.O. 1T-6C-2 revised 30 Nov 1956 Figure 41 - Loose Equiptment - shows Item 10 Hoist Fittings Part Number 36-55009 I hope this helps you if you are trying to order them. Vincent |

And regarding the transport of the A/C to Germany, the link and pics of "51fixer" were very helpful, we also did not use the hoisting rings and instead used slings around the engine mount. ![]() Road transport on the "autobahn" ![]() Unloading, it just started to snow |
