Post subject:  Mounting Harvard 4 wing on T-6G?

I have received a request from the UK through CHAA's website wondering if there is any approval on paper for mounting the wing off a Harvard Mk 4 (p/n 168-14001-2) on a T-6G originally fitted with a 45-14000-1.

Since there are currently no T-6's registered in Canada, I don't think there would be any paperwork north of the 49th to help out...perhaps someone has come across this in the US and has FAA approval?

Thanks in advance.

TCDS for the US only refers to Alum Outer Wing Panels must be installed in lieu of units made from wood.
The only forbidden items of foreign mfg listed are Landing Gear legs.
What specific regulation needs to be complied with since were dealing with the CAA?

Can't comment on the regulatory / paperwork issues, but there might be a "mechanical" issue with just bolting on a
Canadian-built Harvard IV wing onto a US-built / earlier wing center section. The US-built main spar connection has
5 bolt/nutplate holes (I think it's 5) while the Canadian-built version has 4 bolt/nutplate holes. I might be adrift on the
number of holes in each (I'm not in the hangar right now), but they don't match... The US-built panel uses smaller
diameter fasteners as well.

What folks usually do is mill up a new angle out of block of aluminum (the angle isn't 90 degrees) and then match-drill
the holes in the newly fabricated angle to the existing nutplate holes.

years ago i heard a rumor that you can take that angle off and reverse it and it worked, but don't take my word for that.
