I am in the process of replacing my windshield. I have the old one out and will be putting the new one in in the next day or two (glass). Any advice before I get started. I am planning on using 3M 4000 sealant which I have used on boats for bedding hatches. It remains flexible and can be removed if I ever have to do it again.

Steve,
How did you make out. I have read of the years, the windshield replacement can be a little tricky.
Thanks,

PC,
It was a painful process digging out 60 years of sealants to get down to a point I could start putting things back together. Removed the bow to get the old glass out. Once cleaned out, it was a messy job but went back in pretty easily. I cut some pieces of rubber channel and placed it at various points around the glass to keep the glass from contacting the aluminum and used 3M 4000 sealant. Took a day and a half to dry sufficiently to handle.

So the rumors are true. Sounds like a video waiting to happen to help educate the rest of us in the future.
