Perhaps not much help but when I had an L-5 years ago I found a rich source for NOS and serviceable expander tubes to be the Fly Market at Oshkosh during the annual convention. You might want to check out some of those used parts dealers as they buy up inventory. I was able to find lots of the expander tube spring clips for instance. They can be quite fragile and are prone to breaking if they are pitted.
They don't always know which parts fit what, so having some dimensions might be helpful.
