Post subject:  SOLD: LS-87 SPARK PLUGS

LS-87 Spark Plugs.
I have 28 of these spark plugs made by AC and labeled as LS-87. I found this information on the net:

Diameter 14mm
Reach 12.7mm (1/2")
Hex Size 20.8mm (13/16")

Electrode Material Standard Nickel

They have U.S. stamped on the hex and I don't know if that is a military connection or not. Some of these have copper gaskets on them and most have the small WARNING paper insert. All are in the original packing tubes but some have the labels missing. I did not look at each one but the ones I did view appear to be good or new and I didn't see evidence of erosion or heat from being used. However, I wish to sell these as USED so we can both be happy with the sale. They will look good sitting on your shelf in your shop, office or home. I will deliver them USPS priority mail in a flat rate box for a fee of $5.00 for 9 or less plugs and $10 for more than 9 plugs. SOLD

AC Type LS-87 appears to be used in the Wright 1820 engine, perhaps others:

I did find some BG plugs once listed as used in the R-1340, but the harness on my T-6 engine didn't fit onto the plug because the plug barrel was smaller in diameter. The moral is that just because they are listed on the TCDS doesn't mean they will actually work in your particular application.

Thanks for the information. I used to work on DC3's that had P&W 1830's on them but we also had one C47 cargo that as I recall had the 1820's on it.
