I am looking for some bearings for a customer...Non-aircraft use only...
I bought the only ones of these that I could find last year , now my customer is looking for more... Anyone know a source?

Thanks
Zane

http://www.aerotechsolutions.com/ may have them.

Rexnord Industries part number SM5-8C1-502. Not sure if that is the whole rod end or just the bearing though.

http://www.macairparts.com in Vista, CA says they have 2 in stock

Please double check with them to make sure I didn't make a boo-boo.

Do you need the entire rod end or just the bearing?

Thanks,

I think that Rex number is just the bearing...we need the whole thing.

Yeah, Rexnord bought Shafer and they are quoting a 50 week lead time... :Hangman:

The search continues....I'll bet there are a bunch of these in some warehouse....just waiting to be thrown out...

Fun

Zane: Aurora Bearings HXAx series might be real close to what you need. I don't know all the specs, but from the chart they look pretty close. Might need an adjustment on rod length to compensate for a little difference in OAL between the two. Since it's not an airborne application, look to the race parts supplers and rock crawler guy for other possible joints.

If you could get a copy of the drawing, you might find that the rod end is quite common. Boeing drawings are hard to get though because of their proprietary nature.
