Hello again Dave,

I can supply a full set of six if you want. Complete with all the hardware and can easily be made operational. You can be the first C-47 on your block, or around the world, with a complete set of parapacks. So far I have yet to see these installed on a C-47 in any museum let alone flying with them.

Yes Ill take them all, dont let them go anywhere else! Well work something else, but yes, thats our plan is to put all 6 on and do drops at airshows, I also have access to an airshow test range for practice and engineering needs.

Interesting accessory! How were they used and where?

These packs were used to drop supplies in leu of opening the door and kicking it out, or both, they were used in the MTO and ETO for sure, i have may photos with them. They would drop packs of supplies, such as ammo, etc and could be released from the flightdeck by pilot or kicker in the back. The Battle of the Bulge, Ardenne, etc, battles had multiple drops from such parapakcs. So basically the planes were loaded with paratroopers durign D-Day and others and filled the aircraft, then the only area left was underneath to load it up with supplies. The british had the same device, slightly different. If you download off the internet, the OSPREY C-47 of the MTO book, you can see these in a few photos being loaded to include the british type. We would like to retore a full set and use it to re-enact the dropping of these at airshows, sinice our Foundation other aircraft is a bomber that can drop bombs, we figured it would be very cool to drop something from the C-47 also!
