you rtail tie down, is it just the tie-down ring with the threading to thread into the tiedown point that you need? If so, you tell me what size thread core to use and Ill weld one up for you if you dont find an original. |

THe factory design is a long loop design with two bolts, one each side of the forward end, and a single bolt in the rear. It is about six inches long. If we can't find what we are looking for, I may have our Maintenance Officer get back with you. Maybe a ring welded on a matching base plate could be designed. I don't currently have a picture of one, I had one and my flash drive crashed and lost all data, and I hadn't back it up. I just need for the plane its mounted on to return to our base and get more photos. Its nice to have a flying version of what your working on to use as reference for what the pile of parts is supposed to end up looking like. Kurt ![]() |

Totally, I hear that. The CAF next to us is restoring a B25 and they live over at our place when they are working to use the blueprint! I have made tie downs for a couple of different aircraft. Most use the simple tiedown ring. if it doesnt work out, and you need one made, just email me with a drawing or pic of what you need and Ill leave the base of the weld built up so you can grind down to fit snug and youll be on your way. I use top quality thread core and the ring of a current style tiedown from the military I buy as surpllus and then weld on the thread core, leaving the base built up so you can grind to fit snug so it cant bottom out of the threads and it'll fit snug against the airframe. Im always around, so let me know when the time is right. |
