During World War 2, the band instrument manufacturer C.G. Conn Company. of Elkhart, Indiana retooled to make aviation instruments for the war effort. Among the items they produced were:

- Compasses
- Altimeters
- Gyro-Horizon Indicators

...as well as other instruments requiring precision assembly.

As a collector of Conn Saxophones and other Conn memorabilia, I think the aviation instruments would make a valuable and significant addition to my collection.

After researching a bit more, I found out that CG Conn made the C-12 Altimeter for Kollsman...it was used on AAF fighters such as the P-38, P-39 and P-40.
