Any chance one of you have a picture? I was actually looking for an N-3(A-B-C) when this post was started. I've found several sites with the gun sight, but the pictures don't have the reflector. Why are these difficult to find? Chunks |

SNJ, I think Jay had repro N-9 heads once upon a time, you might want to ask him about that. I have one original N-9 reflector head, only took me a few years to find it! Not interested in parting with it though... |

Hello, Sighting heads for N-9 are indeed very difficult to find and cost a small fortune in the collector world. Took me 6 years to find a nice one (photo attached). ![]() But which sighting head are you exactly looking for ? If it is the classical WWII B 1, i cannot help. But if you're also looking for post war sighting heads that were used with refurbished N-9, there i can help as i have a spare N.O.S. refurbished N-9 complete with sighting head. Never was able to identify exactly on which planes it was used (B-26, T-28, ?) If interested can send or post photos. Laurent |

Thank you for posting the pics. If you have any pics of the N-3C I would love to see them. The manual references figure 341 for the optical gun sight, but the last page in my manual is figure 340 %&*@##! missing pages. Chunks |

Thanks again for posting the pics. I've learned a lot about sights in the last few days. Saw a few for sale and thought I may need one, but wasn't sure from the pictures what all was missing. Chunks |

I'm looking for the B1 head. Guess I'll just have to be patient. I've got an N-3A and a head that I bought for it at a different time. The head's P/N is 87-69939C, this is for the P-40. The head doesn't include the glass or the crash pad. Can anyone tell me the dimensions of the glass including the thickness or does anyone know of any sources for replica glass? Also, does anyone have any photos of a complete N3 with that head? It's weird. I've seen a lot of N3s for sale on ebay, quite a few set up as a trainer (which is what I have), but I haven't seen any with the heads. I wonder why the heads didn't survive but the body did? Mac |
