Hi there everyone. Busy winter time maintenance going on and I am looking for some parts for multiple aircraft.

B-25 & Percival Prentice

Im looking for spare flight controls for the -25 to train some volunteers on how to install and work with fabric control surfaces. Figure I Should get a flight control surface we might need one day to train on.

The prentice needs engine parts, bad.
Having mag problems currently and need some gipsy 32 parts.

We're a Non-Profit and can offer Tax Write-Offs in exchange or cash.

Please help! Leads are accepted as equal value :)

The fight continues.....

Now I have the parts on the way "Hopefully" that we needed so we can fire her back up. She has been taken care of in her down years, and the motor is well lube and rotates and cranks over just fine. The airframe is in great shape and hopefully we just need to change a few items and shell be "good to go"!

Heres some in progress picks

The engine is in great shape minus some hoses that need replacing and the red paint that was put on decades ago!

Is this the only Prentice in the US? Any idea of its history?

Is that the same Prentice that I used to see at Casa Grande back in the 1980s? I parked the SNJ-5 next to it one year and the Stearman next to a year or so after that. What happened to it? As I recall, it was in nearly perfect condition. Has it been outside since I last saw it? I think that is the same engine that we have in the Rapide but I'm not sure how many spare parts we have or what type.

You might want to try and contact Richard L Rude, owner of N82D, one (if not the only) still-flying Heron's in the US. When I last checked, he had 4 or 5 spare Gypsy Queens for the aircraft in addition to a lot of other spare parts.

Thanks bdk. I'm not personally comfortable posting anything other than that publically available information as I haven't talked to him personally to see if he still has any of that stuff nor do I have his permission to give out any of his contact info.

Also, you may be able to get ahold of him through the company his son owns - www.airtahoma.com (which, coincidentally owns & operates the airplane that's in my avatar).

*****UPDATE****

Percival Prentice now has a running motor!!!!!!!!
Shes not perfect, but were working it. Hopefully end of weekend we will have all parts ordered to perfect the motor, and by "perfect" I mean get running as well as possible being that its british and the motor spins backwards and is installed upside down! j/k But no really, for those of you who dont know, The DH Gipsy Queen 30-2 motor in this airplane really is mounted upside down, pistons firing downward and the prop spins counter clockwise!

Mags go to get overhauled in Hayward California next month for giggles and to get a fresh overhaul this decade along with hopefully the prop overhaul next month.

As far as the annual on the aircraft, its in progress and wiring and some other small finds are getting replaced currently. Still have an estimated fly date of next summer. Maybe sooner at this rate, but next June-July is a great time buffer call.

Would love to repaint it back to british trainer era colors of silver, but for that, I need volunteers!!!! "Wink, Wink"

Still need some parts, still would like original maintenance manuals specific to the Prentice.

Ill try and post some photos or maybe video of our engine runs tomorrow.
