Anyone know what type of turret these controls are for? Remote fire control system? They are from the Emerson Turret Division in St. Louis.

Turret Parts

Tom,
Yes, these appear to be NOS but like so many of the parts in this inventory our museum has acquired, I am struggling to figure out what model turret or what model fire control system they would be used on. Emerson built turrets starting in 1942 and continue to do so today but they are no longer a division of Emerson. This inventory has parts from 42' to about 59'. The black yoke on these controllers is almost the same as the yoke used on the Emerson A-15 nose turret used on the B-24. There are about 275 55 gallon drums of parts but most of the drums have mixed up parts. the drum I tipped over today, had these two in it as well as parts for the A-15, Sperry upper, Sperry ball, and Martin 250CE5. I thought I could inventory this stuff in about one month of part time work, at least that's what I told the museum's two directors, but this could take the rest of the year unless I can find some more parts manuals. I love warbirds, always have, but other than our SNJ-5, most of the aircraft are antiques. Any idea what these are for? Thanks,

Albert,

Any and all parts numbers you can pull off this stuff will be the key in most cases. Do whatever you can to find as many as you can. Post those numbers on WIX and put the rest of us to work!

You already know what I hope you find!
