ok. Those are Portuguese Air Force markings, so my curiosity. There is no dateplate or other markings on the plane which could help on IDing it?

The Portuguese had their colonial wars in Africa, both in Angola and Mozambique.

The provenance of this particular T-6 from Africa is possible, if it was one of those machines left behind after Portugal left the continent.

And then again, it could have been a machine that was sold from Portugal to someone in S.Africa?

I am not high on serial numbers, and I have no data sources to consult right now, so guessing is the best I can do at this time.

Interesting project though.

I can easily get Portuguese T6 serial numbers but for that there must be a place to start (PAF markings generally have a tail number repeated in one of the wings). I cannot see any in the pictures so my question.

You have it advertised as fuselage and center section only, are the "G"model wings in the background not included? Do you have any better photos? How is the corrosion and is there much battle damage? Where is it located?
If there is no data plate in the front cockpit check the top left side of the flipover structure it should have a rectangular data plate with the aircrafts previous identity before it was converted to a "G" model including total time on the airframe prior to conversion.

Read you loud and clear. I would offer to try to go get a serial number for you, but I have no idea if I will be going to Kansas soon, and the airplane may very well be sold before I make it there.

BUT, if I can arrange it with Ben, I will make sure to try to get a serial number or other identification information for you.

Yes the wings do go with it. I am in Costa Rica on vcation and i will collct all the info i can and the post next weekñ about the 20th or so.

Back from Costa Rica and i have no real info on the AC other than Bill says no corrosion. The AC had an engine failure in Tx and that is all he knows about it. Bring money!lol

Chunks a Wixer has been and seen the AC in question. He and Bill differ on opinion. Chunks says that he see's intergrannular corrosion in the wing attach fittings and possibly the center section.
I am grateful to Chunks for pm'ing me with this difference of opinion rather than commenting about in the threads and not giving me a heads up about it by PM . Thank you Sir.

It's really hard to say without see her in person. The G model is notorious for corrsion. Every darn extrusion seems intent on going back to powder form. Either way, I am curious on the aicraft serial and id.
