Curtiss Falcon 48” x 31” oil. Painted by Charles Hubbell, who was likely the most popular, and one of the best-known aviation artist of the 20th Century. Obtained many years ago from Hubbell’s son, who told me that it was painted around 1927-and was one of Hubbell’s earliest airplane oil paintings, and one of the largest. This is likely the Curtiss Faclon A-3, as you can see the scarf/ring mount for rear machine gun, and the wing mounted machine guns
Have numerous other original aviation paintings of Pioneer Era, WWI, Between the wars, Air Racing and more. Many are ex-Smithsonaian exhibits.
Will have to figure out shipping after I know where it is going. as many of these are going al over the world. Have had just about all of them professionally packed, and safely delivered. Much more clear and sharp when viewed in person, of course
