The first number I gave you was written right off the part. The second one I just gave is blowing up the photo I have posted. All these were made in PIQUA, OHIO and I really have no idea when. My guess is post-WWII for sure. These all came from a barn owned by Waco Aircraft President Clayton Brukner who purchased them sometime prior to his death in 1977. We have maybe 200 of them.

Definitely post war but probably an obsolete aircraft type. I'm guessing a turboprop or jet of some sort as they are pretty big.

Linear actuators can run $10,000 to $20,000 new each , someone out there may still need some. Dealers will usually pay 1% or 2% for NOS parts like this if they know the application.

Best bet maybe putting the lot up for auction on the web or an ad in barnstormers.

I tried my reference material and it all came up blank , it maybe that they are also a superseded part which can't be used.

You may want to send an email to the manufacturers technical section to see if they can ID the part.

Hate to see you lose a chunk of change for your projects :D

Man, you could sell those to the "Pimp My Ride" TV show. They could use them to raise up big screen TVs in the trunk of your car or make the tailgate of your pickup truck open automatically.

In fact I'll bet Gary has some even better ideas on what to use these for...

Good call BDK but voltage maybe an issue , i guess they could put a small step up transformer to get 28V from 12V

Is there an NSN number on the actuator's tag ?

Maybe give Lear a call?

If this is for a bizjet or an airliner it may not have a National Stock Number.

Maybe you need to sell them to Country Music Television's "Trick My Truck" instead. I think most of those semi-tractors are 24 volts. Automatic hood opener anyone?

As for getting from 12 to 24 volts, can't you just use one of those "step-up resistors"?
