It's actually quite well done. As you said, better than alot of the CGI era war films that have come out in the last decade.
The game itself is interesting as well, especially if you're into the naval aspects of WWII. It's about as realistic as most games but it does have some notable moments. Outmaneuvering a spread of torpedoes when you didn't think you could is quite intense
