Stephen Coonts wrote the book. Coonts was an A-6 pilot in Vietnam. The protagonist was a an A-6 pilot. The movie folllowed the boook, except for the romance portion. This movie is one of my faves. the barfight scene was hilarious. Five stars out of five.
