since there are so many B-17's and the B-17 Registry is currenly undergoing overhaul, I figure that this a/c desrves its own section.

Would like to know the story behind this bomber if anyone has any info. Sounds like they recovered it back in '72 and then probably scrapped it because I have not heard of its present existance.

The serial Number tracks to one recovered in 1945. It was hauled to the whitehorse dump, from pictures I've seen in "Warbirds to Alaska". not sure where the 1972 date comes from?

Sorry, I have to plead ignorance on this one. I checked my files and have nothing on it. The Freeman book shows it crashed at Lake Bennett, Carcross, Yukon Territory on 10/16/43. I'm not aware of a 1972 recovery of a B-17 in Canada but that doesn't mean much.
As for Final Cut, no plans at this point to do a new version. The 2nd edition is close to selling out and should be out of print next year. I'll have to see how things go as to whether or not a 3rd edition will be done.
