Can anyone tell me if the wing spars on the n3n-3 were spliced from the factory?

As I understand it, the aircraft was designed with a continuous upper wing spar. Towards the end of production spar material was running low (and the country was now at war, limiting access to additional material) and the factory began to use spliced spars.
So yes, SOME spars were spliced as supplied by the Naval Aircraft Factory. Additional spars have been spliced in the field using the factory splice technique.

Thanks this looks like a factory job, and I can't find anything in the logs. Gene
