I saw this fuselage in the Pima County Museum in Sept 1974, before it actually opened.
It appeared to vanish from the scene afterwards and is not in the AMCAR 1979

Pima are not renowned for scrapping airframes
Anyone any idea where it went to?

thks

Hmm... Here is N3148G painted up as BuNo 90882:

The feds say N3149G has "multiple records" (one reserved N number which was cancelled, and one
for a Gemini Prospector aircraft which was cancelled in 2011)

Thks for that but these are 2 different a/craft
90822 N3149G vs 90882 /N3148G
The Warbirds Directory CD gives:-

88-18170 AT-6D 42-86389 (to USN as Bu90822)
SNJ-5 N3149G reg.
Pima County Air Museum, Tucson AZ 74/76
(stored dism. incomplete Pima 74)

and

88-18300 • AT-6D 42-86519 (to USN as Bu90882)
SNJ-5 N3148G sale rep., Long Beach CA: USCR 84
Lionel J. Caeton, Dos Palos CA 86/95
Clancy H. Flanagan, Chowchilla CA 15.4.97/08

I'm always amazed at how often such similarities occur!!

I had also been to the FAA site when digging originally

Like the picture though
