What is all this that I hear/read about Avro Lincoln RF398 (the Cosford Lincoln) being "haunted"?! I wasn't aware that the airplane had ever been involved in any kind of tragedy. Is this a media-hype story or is there something more to this - I mean, if you believe in that kind of thing.

We had a thread going on this over on the Key Publishing forums some time ago, LOADS of fascinating ghost stories, and the Lincoln came up SEVERAL times...so there is definitely something to it, as well as the haunted Control Tower up at East Kirkby where the Lanc 'Just Jane' is based....

Wish I knew how to put you on to that thread, lotsa great stuff....you'll just have to look for it...

Yeah...that be the one...good work...lotsa interesting ghost stories on there for those who like that sort of stuff (I do!)...the stories about the Lincoln start on page 4 and continue on after that...

'My sister was stationed at RAF Cosford when she was in the RAF, there were many stories regardsing the LIncoln. In particular an airman in full flying kit was reportedly seen to walk over to the A/C and climb in on several accations. Also it was said that the A/C never got dusty and if you climbed onboard was always cold inside!!'

Just one of the stories pilched from the site...read on over there if you dare...and betcha never look at the tower at East Kirkby the same again...
