It seems like an odd event - but John Travolta is a great spokesman and supporter of vintage airline history.

Anything that can help to make sure that the Super Connie can be back in the air is a worthy cause.

2006 has been a tough year for the Connie and I wish the AHM the best in the coming year and I hope we will see the Connie back on the air show circuit.

It should be noted that John Travolta once owned a Connie himself...the plane that was formerly known at the MATS Connie (although he owned in back in the 80s before it sported its MATS colors).

He is quite an aviation enthusiast. If I'm not mistaken, he still owns (and flies) his own 707.

He keeps it parked at his residence with a skywalk leading directly from the upper story of his house to the 707! 8)

His house is on an 7,500 ft private strip in Anthony, Florida, which is just north of Ocala, and he also keeps his Gulfstream G2 there as well.

You can see it on Google Earth or Google Maps here:

29 16 43.00 N 82 07 01.00 W

The 707 was there when the photo was taken, but not the G2. Looks like the strip has been recently paved.
